Walter Scott Wines was established in 2008 by Ken Pahlow and Erica Landon. They live and work on a humble chunk of land adjacent to Bethel Heights’ Justice Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. Their single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay has garnered a cult following. Ken works with some of the finest vineyards around – mostly in the Eola-Amity Hills.
The name Walter Scott is a portmanteau of Ken’s Grandfather Walter and his Nephew Scott – two men who embodied fearlessness and pioneering and whom Ken credits his inspiration for making the leap into his life’s dream.
Here, you have the Freedom Hill Pinot Noir – sourced from a large vineyard in the newly-minted “Van Duzer Corridor” AVA. The wine is wild and brambly with herbal and earthy notes. This wine should delight Burgundy enthusiasts!
