Tony Soter is a legend in his own time. He lived and worked in Napa for over 20 years, becoming one of the most successful and sought-after winemaking consultants. Eventually, he launched his own brand, Etude, which went on to enjoy immense success and international brand recognition.
But Oregon was the home in his heart, and eventually Tony cashed in his Napa chips and settled on a bucolic property in the Yamhill-Carlton District of the Willamette Valley. There, on his 240 Biodynamic acres called “Mineral Springs Ranch”, he planted 40 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and launched his iconic Oregon label: Soter Vineyards.
As was to be expected, Tony made a splash and has gathered some serious accolades for his Oregon wines. His methode champenoise Brut Rose sparkling wine has achieved full-fledged cult status, and his Pinots have soured to the top of many a critics’ best-of list. The wines are widely celebrated, and covetously hoarded among collectors.
The Green Label “Mineral Springs Ranch” bottling is his 100% estate Pinot Noir from the famed hillcrest vineyard of the same name.
Yes, I have priced this wine as though I know what I’m holding – and that’s because I do. It will sell – to someone who also knows and appreciates the opportunity I’m offering here. That someone could be you!
Among its many accolades, Portland Monthly Magazine called this vintage of the MSR Pinot Noir the #1 “most-prized” Pinot Noir in Oregon!
From Steven Tanzer: “Bright ruby red. Heady aromas of candied red fruits, incense and cola, with suave nuances… This wine should age well. 93 pts“
