Description
If there was a name for a “sommelier” of land instead of wine, Brian Boulay would be that. He takes pride in his ability to source fruit from superior, under-the-radar locations that employ the utmost in vineyard management excellence and usher it through his non-interventionist techniques from vineyard to bottle.
The Boulay wines are fresh, elegant, brilliantly colored and spectacularly perfumed.
This one hails from the Bieze Vineyard – just adjacent to the legendary Seven Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. With a few years of age in the bottle, it is truly in a nice place to express the unique, smokey, meaty characteristics of this site.
From the Winery:
“Deep violet-red. Dark, black cherries, ripe blood orange and raspberries, vanilla bean, root beer, clove and cedar on the nose. This deep and complex wine woven together with delicately balanced acidity fades away slowly to black teas and caramel on an ultra-fine tannic finish. A pure and stunning portrait of the near perfect 2012 vintage and this superb vineyard as well as a perfect introduction to the energy, tension and balance found in Boulay wines”
