On a humble property deep in the Dundee Hills, Mo Ayoub built a home and planted a 4 acre vineyard in 2001. Starting in 2004 he began crafting his distinctive style of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Being of Lebanese descent, Mo is a proud family man and a proud producer of incredibly precise wines. His professional background in Engineering has certainly influenced his very exacting approach to wine production.
Today his production has expanded slightly beyond his tiny Estate Vineyard, but total production is still under 1000 cases annually. That makes this a highly sought-after and highly allocated project.
The “Memoirs” Pinot Noir is Mo’s entry-level Pinot, carrying a consumer-friendly price tag for a wine of elegance and stature. The label always features a photo from Mo’s family album.
From the Winery:
Memoirs is my fond personal tribute to my family. This year’s label features a picture of parents at my uncle’s house in the early 70’s. The 2017 Memoirs is a blend of Pinot Noir crafted from all the vineyards I source my fruit from.
The nose has incredible aromatics of black cherry, cranberry, graham cracker and allspice. Just from the smell your senses will be provoked. That palate is full bodied with vanilla and black cherry finishing with dusty tannins. This is a flavorful expression of Pinot Noir that has everyone asking for more. It’s a gorgeous & complex wine that is approachable young but will cellar for many years. Best from 2019 to 2030.
