On a humble property deep in the Dundee Hills, Mo Ayoub built a home and planted a 4 acre vineyard in 2001. Starting in 2004 he began crafting his distinctive style of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Being of Lebanese descent, Mo is a proud family man and a proud producer of incredibly precise wines. His professional background in Engineering has certainly influenced his very exacting approach to wine production.
Today his production has expanded slightly beyond his tiny Estate Vineyard, but total production is still under 1000 cases annually. That makes this a highly sought-after and highly allocated project.
The Anonimo Vineyard is a newer source for Mo. It’s just a little ways down the road from his Estate Vineyard in the Dundee Hills, but has a slightly different situational aspect and a different clonal array.
From the Winery:
This is the second release from Anonimo Vineyard, a new vineyard I planted on a great
site that I leased in Dundee Hills located near my Estate Vineyard. The four acres lot was
planted with nine different clones of Pinot Noir which gives this wine it’s beautiful complexity.
Captivating nose with chocolate covered cherries, cinnamon, white pepper with a hint of leather
and smoke. The palate leads with dark red fruit that is integrated with distinct tannin structure,
juicy acidity, accented with mineral and spice. This is a savory expression of Pinot Noir revealing
an assortment of flavors that makes for a broad and inspiring tasting experience. This wine was
fermented with 18% Whole Cluster. Tempting to drink now but will develop beautifully with time.
Best from 2020 to 2030.
