Alexana Winery was founded in 2005 by Dr. Madaiah Revana in the Northwestern corner of the Dundee Hills. It’s one of 3 wineries that Dr. Revana owns – the other two being in Napa and Argentina. The house style here is decidedly big, rich, and hedonistic. Heavily extracted juice meets an aggressive barrel program that results in wines of great depth and structure with plenty of jammy dark fruit notes and heady barrel spice components.
The Revana Vineyard is their Estate site that serves as the centerpiece of the production here. It is a unique site in that it sits on a piece of land with 18 distinct soil types all swirled around like some kind of marble cake. This variance of soil lends a complexity to the wines that can only be found in such a dynamic site. Add to that 10 different clonal selections planted across the vineyard and you have a mind-boggling display of the diversity of Pinot Noir expressions.
This bottling sources fruit from all corners of the vineyard and incorporates all 10 clones, so it really showcases the “whole” of the vineyard. It is an utterly pleasure-inducing wine that will please even the “Cabernet-only” wine drinker in your life.

From Wine Spectator:
Sleek and harmonious, with an elegantly complex core wrapped in supple raspberry and savory spice flavors that linger toward refined tannins.
